Independent Research Fund Denmark | Social Sciences supports specific research activities based on the initiatives of the researchers and gives scientific advice within the scientific areas of the council.
DFF | Social Sciences offers funding to researchers who work within the social sciences. DFF | Social Sciences covers the following main disciplines: economics, sociology, political science and legal theory, as well as the societal aspects of various interdisciplinary subjects (e.g., communication studies, development studies, gender studies and cultural geography).
Independent Research Fund Denmark | Social Sciences allocates research grants to researchers working within these areas. Furthermore, the council provides scientific advice in relation to socio-scientific issues. Advice is given according to request or on the Fund's own initiative.
Furthermore, the Fund contributes to strengthening the communication and use of research results and participates in international cooperation.
Independent Research Fund Denmark annually publishes a call inviting researchers to apply for funding for research activities within the scientific areas of the Fund. The call includes information about requirements and guidelines for applications to Independent Research Fund Denmark | Social Sciences. Some instruments have open deadlines for application, which will appear from the call.
The council's 12 members are acknowledged researchers appointed by the Minister for Higher Education and Science in their own personal capacity.
