The call for proposals for Strengthened clinical and independent research 2023 has now been published. A total of DKK 200 million will strengthen patient-oriented, clinical and independent research. Researchers may apply until the deadline of 14 June 2023 at 12:00 (noon).
Independent Research Fund Denmark publishes the thematic research call ‘Strengthened clinical and independent research’ 2023 as a consequence of the political agreements of 28 February 2023 on the distribution of the research reserve in 2023.
Call for proposals - Strengthened clinical and independent research 2023
Researchers can apply from a total pool of DKK 200 million for strengthened point-of-care clinical and independent research, including independent and researcher-initiated trials, studies, etc., and in areas where there is limited commercial interest or opportunities for external funding, e.g. from research foundations.
The research can, among other things, contribute to generating more knowledge about chronic disease, nursing and care in the local healthcare system, reduction of inequality in health and disease, e.g. on the basis of disability, working environment and socio-economic conditions, as well as generating more knowledge about disease in a lifelong perspective and across generations, and about the lack of focus on women in medical research
With this call, it is possible to initiate clinical research to investigate both the effect of new forms of treatment, and the potential for improvements of existing treatments.
With the DKK 100 million, which has been prioritised for psychiatric research (see DFF’s call for proposals on “Better framework for psychiatry”), it is the intention that funds will not be allocated for psychiatric research within the framework of DFF’s call for proposals on “Strengthened clinical and independent research”. Applications within clinical research on psychiatry are therefore referred to DFF’s call for proposals on “Better framework for psychiatry”.
It is expected that the English version of the call for proposals on “Better framework for psychiatry” will be published in the first week of May.
The call will be within the budgetary framework and requirements of DFF Research Project 1 (thematic) and DFF Research Project 2 (thematic).
Please note that the amount limit has been adjusted so that up to DKK 2.2 million (excluding overhead) can be applied for under DFF-Research Project1 (thematic) and between DKK 2,2 and 4,3 million (excluding overhead) under DFF-Research Project2.
Application forms in e-grant are available now. Applications must be uploaded in the application system www.e-grant.dk no later than Wednesday 14 June 2023 at 12:00 (noon).
