Independent Research Fund Denmark has just awarded grants for 30 research projects, journals, networks and research stays abroad. The funds are distributed among four different instruments and are intended to promote scientific innovation, strengthen collaboration between Danish and international research environments, strengthen the dispersion of humanistic research, and support talented students.
11 talented students will now have the opportunity to engage in scientific work and sharpen their interest in a further scientific career. The grants are awarded by Independent Research Fund Denmark | Medical and Health Sciences and amounts to over DKK 1.8 million. The funds will give the students opportunity to immerse themselves in their projects for an extra semester.
The students will e.g. investigate the effect of a drop in core temperature among drowned people, how we can improve cancer treatment for overweight patients, and how intramuscular adrenaline in cardiac arrest can increase the chance of survival.
It is the students' supervisors who submit applications and receive grants.
