The Independent Research Fund Denmark announces its call for support of original, independent research in the autumn 2024 and spring of 2025. The call includes important dates and requirements for applying for the fund's grants.
The Independent Research Fund Denmark annually awards approximately DKK 1.5 billion to original, promising research ideas of the highest quality, conceived and initiated by the researchers themselves. With this funding, the fund aims to support research ideas with breakthrough potential while also contributing to the capacity building of Danish research.
With grants averaging DKK 3.3 million, researchers have the opportunity to test their ideas, and the call prioritizes funding for independent research within and across all scientific main areas, benefiting the development of Danish research.
This call is for applications submitted for the application deadlines in autumn 2024 and spring 2025. The application deadlines for the various instruments can be found in section 2.2 of the call.

Application forms will be available in the e-grant application system from the end of June 2024.
The call does not contain significant changes from the last time, but there are a few changes that applicants should be aware of.
Also, note that the instrument ‘Non-university Research Education (PhD)’ is included again in this call.
