Independent Research Fund Denmark (DFF) will host three webinars on 23, 24, and 25 April 2024 for those of you considering applying for one the fund’s thematic calls in 2024. The webinars will be held in English and will, among other things, include an overview of the fund’s thematic calls 2024, requirements for your application as well as the assessment criteria based on which your application will be assessed.
The webinars will be held on the following dates:
- Tuesday April 23 2024, 2:30 - 3:30 (pm) (Danish time: 14:30 - 15:30)
- Wednesday April 24 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 (am) (Danish time: 10:00 – 11:00)
- Thursday April 25 2024, 1:00 - 2:00 (pm) (Danish time: 13:00 - 14:00)

In 2024, DFF will distribute fund for thematic research within the following themes:
- Independent green research
- Arctic research – Climate change and sustainable arctic communities
- Strengthened clinical and independent research
- Better framework for research in psychiatry
- Research on elderly and ageing
- Research on loneliness
- Strengthened research on vulnerable children and youth and poor well-being
- Learning and well-being in primary schools
- Stronger research environments for vocational education and work-related pedagogy and practice-based learning.
The webinars will be held in English.
The agenda will be the same for all three webinars and will, among other things, touch upon the following topics:
- Overview of the fund’s thematic calls in 2024
- Funding instruments and general requirements for your application
- Assessment criteria
- The application system: E-grant
- Interviews with selected committee chairs of the thematic ad hoc committees
- On Tuesday 23 April, the chairs of the committees “Primary schools and vocational education” (Ane Qvortrup) and “Arctic research – Climate change and sustainable arctic communities” (Thomas Ingeman-Nielsen) will participate
- On Wednesday 24 April, the chairs of the committees “Better framework for research in psychiatry” (Ingrid Melle) and “Strengthened clinical and independent research” (Henrik Toft Sørensen) will participate
- On Thursday 25 April, the chairs of the committees “Vulnerable children and youth, poor well-being, loneliness and elderly” (Mattias Strandh) and “Independent green research” (Jan Oskar Jeppesen) will participate.
The webinars are aimed at all potential applicants and others, who might have an interest in learning more about the thematic calls.
You are very welcome to share the invitation with anyone who might be interested in the calls.
The webinar will be hosted on Zoom. Please note that the maximum number of participants is 1,000 per webinar. Participation in the webinar is free of charge and registration is not required. The spots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The webinars will not be recorded.
Once the webinars have been held, the Power Point presentation will be made available on the fund’s website for a short period.
