Pre-graduate scholarships for students and funding for international research stays

Eight students from medical science education programs have received a total of 1.5 million DKK for scientific work. Additionally, three researchers have been awarded funds to promote the internationalization of social science research and will go on research stays abroad.

Pre-graduate Scholarships

Independent Research Fund Denmark has allocated a total of 1.5 million DKK to eight of the most talented undergraduate and graduate students in the medical science education programs. The funding is provided by the DFF | Medical Sciences research council to enable students to engage in scientific work. The council also aims to foster interest in pursuing a scientific career among students.

The projects funded include research on treating urinary tract infections without antibiotics, improving blood oxygenation in cases of pulmonary embolism, and exploring new treatment and prevention options for muscle weakness in patients with heart failure.

With these scholarships, students will have the opportunity to become part of an innovative research project and carry out an independent project under supervision.

Applications were submitted by the students’ supervisors, so the supervisors' names are listed in the applications.

International Research Stay

The research council DFF | Social Sciences has allocated nearly 632,000 DKK to three researchers who are going on a research stay abroad.

The projects include examining how personal events such as divorce and long-term job searching impact individual careers and the ability to find work in startups, as well as exploring how joint-stock companies can become more democratic and ensure employees greater influence.

In addition to focusing on research areas covered by the council, the goal is also to promote international collaborations, networking, and data collection.
