How can the humanities contribute to alleviating and addressing crises, as well as strengthening societal resilience in times of crisis? Ten new transnational research projects have just been granted funding from CHANSE, with Danish participation in four of these projects.
Ten intriguing transnational projects have now been selected, all aimed at examining both historical and contemporary crises with a particular focus on understanding the role of cultural and social practices in crisis management. A total of 46 research teams from across 19 countries have been assembled to demonstrate how the humanities can help mitigate and resolve crises, as well as bolster society's resilience during challenging times.

Independent Research Fund Denmark is a partner in the Europe-wide call ‘Crisis – Perspectives from the Humanities’ by HERA (Humanities in the European Research Area) and CHANSE (Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe). Independent Research Fund Denmark participates in funding the HERA network’s call, alongside 21 other national research funds across Europe.
