“In 2024, the fund allocated DKK 1.9 billion to 588 different research projects across both independent and thematic research. We look back on a record-breaking year, in which the fund helped secure strong conditions for independent, curiosity-driven research and thereby contributed to a long-term investment in our future. Especially in a time when the geopolitical world order is undergoing change, independent research is essential to ensure that we are – and continue to be – able to handle the changes that will inevitably come,” says Søren Serritzlew, chair of the board.
You can also read a feature from the research conference, which focused on the role of independent research in an era marked by major technological developments and global challenges.
In the section “The fund in figures”, you will find an overview of this year’s grants, success rates, and the members of the board, scientific councils, and thematic committees in 2024.
