Open for applications: Nordic-Baltic education systems and 21st century challenges

NordForsk has launched a new call to promote research on Nordic and Baltic education systems in addressing the challenges of the 21st century.

The aim is to support up to five research projects that can provide new insights into how education can strengthen resilience, equality, and future readiness in society. Key themes include democracy and inclusion, the role of technology in teaching, and the organization of education systems and teacher education.

This call is announced as a collaborative effort between the Independent Research Fund Denmark, the Research Council of Finland, the Research Council of the Faroe Islands, the Icelandic Centre for Research (Rannís), the Research Council of Norway, the Swedish Research Council, the Estonian Research Council, the Research Council of Lithuania, and NordForsk. 

The call is open for applications now.

You can apply via NordForsk. The application must be submitted by the deadline of 22 April 2026 at 13:00.

Connect with other researchers who may be interested in the call by signing up for the NordForsk contact list no later than 22 March 2026. NordForsk will host a webinar about the call on 11 February 2026.
