Calls for research funding postponed - will be published as soon as possible

Due to the announcement of the election, Independent Research Fund Denmark cannot publish the calls for proposals for 2026 as planned. The calls will be published as soon as possible, though no earlier than the end of March 2026. The fund will therefore also postpone the dates for webinars providing information about the fund’s funding opportunities in 2026.

Independent Research Fund Denmark will provide ongoing updates on the website as soon as we know more about when the fund’s calls for proposals can be published and when the new dates for webinars about the fund’s calls and for meetings with research support units are known.

If you are planning to apply for funding for your research from the fund this year, you will be able to find the general descriptions of all the fund’s instruments with a deadline in the first half of 2026 on the website during the course of next week (week 12). The framework and conditions for applying for funding from the fund will be published in the fund’s calls for proposals.

The deadline for applying to the two instruments DFF-Research Project1 and Pre-graduate Scholarships | Medical Sciences will be postponed to the expected date of 12 May 2026. The general descriptions of the two instruments will be available on the website from Monday, 16 March 2026.

You can already familiarise yourself with the adjusted assessment criteria and new requirements for the CV and publication list (track record), which are described in the news item here.

You can also find all the necessary templates for your application here.

The postponement of the calls for proposals also means that:

  • The fund’s webinars about funding opportunities will be postponed and given new dates, which will be announced on the website.
  • The fund’s meetings with research support units will be postponed and given new dates. If you have registered, you will be contacted by the fund.
  • You will be able to begin working on your application in the application system e-grant shortly after the calls for research funding are published.
  • The application deadlines for DFF–Research Project1 and Pre-graduate Scholarships | Medical Sciences will be postponed to the expected date of 12 May 2026.

You can find an overview of what you can apply for from the fund in the first half of 2026 here.
