The calls mentioned on this webpage are offered by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Applications must be submitted via the SNSF website. The call is announced on the DFF website because DFF and SNSF have a bilateral agreement.

The bilateral agreement between DFF and SNSF aims to strengthen research relations and collaborations between the two countries and makes it possible for researchers from Denmark to participate in SNSF-supported Swiss-Danish research projects, where the research project cannot be conducted without the additional applicants from Denmark, and this part adds a significant value to the project.

International Co-Investigator is a project funding scheme based on a bilateral agreement between DFF and SNSF.
The bilateral agreement between DFF and SNSF aims to strengthen research relations and collaborations between the two countries and makes it possible for researchers from Denmark to participate in SNSF-supported Swiss-Danish research projects, and vice versa.
Danish-Swiss research groups can use the programme to apply for funding for research projects with topics and goals of their choice, just as it is already possible today for Swiss researchers to participate in the programmes of Independent Research Fund Denmark.
The SNSF evaluates and finances the International Co-Investigator applications together with regular project funding applications, without any involvement of the foreign funding agency (single evaluation). There is no additional budget for the International Co-Investigator Scheme.

Submission deadlines 1 April and 1 October normally apply for applications to the SNSF. Only one application may be submitted per deadline. You do not have to submit the application to DFF.
With the International Co-Investigator Scheme, a Swiss based main PI can use up to 50% of the budget requested from the SNSF for applicants in Denmark.

The requirements set out in Articles 2 and 3 of the Project Funding Regulations also apply to international co-applicants, i.e. they must have a minimum of 50 per cent (0.5 FTE) employment in the country concerned.
You can apply to all of DFF's calls with a Swiss partner.

Please note that overhead costs for the Swiss partner are not covered.
